ABOUT
I trained in Waldorf Steiner methods of handwork, which have a focus on natural materials, hand stitching wherever possible and minimalist features which allow space for the receiver to enter into relationship with the item. I spent many years as a Waldorf playgroup facilitator and craftswoman of treasures for children (and adults) including supplying hand dyed woolen felt to the local community.

In recent years my work has 'grown up'. I have moved beyond the strict parameters of Waldorf handwork for children whilst retaining the skills and warmth of that approach. I still occasionally craft items for children, yet demand and my own interests have led me into more archetypal and symbolic realms.
After facilitating 'Crafting a SacRed Yoni' workshops for hundreds of women at the Seven Sisters Festival, in both clay and upcycled materials, yoni crafts of various modalities are now something I am known for. In addition, bespoke symbolic wall hangings, hand weaving, bespoke embroidered birthday crowns, hand dyed wool felt and felt moon phase sets are part of my original design stable.

More recent works include dolls with an umbilical cord, placenta and 'womb-bag' for use in therapeutic settings, whether for personal inner-child healing, baby loss healing or group work. 'Exposed heart' and 'birdwoman' soft dolls signal a departure from Steiner Waldorf techniques, using herbal-dyed calico, eco-dyed silk and a found bird wing. These dolls combine symbolic elements and evoke vulnerability and depth.

I do not outsource any of the handwork and often dye and prepare raw materials for each project. My 'aesthetic' is not replicable perfection but honors the natural variations of a hand made item and the style choices of exposed stitching or whatever each individual piece calls for.
